The Battle to Remove the SUPERNATURAL from God –

The Battle of Denial and Rejection of the SUPERNATURAL God

And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. (Mark 15:20)

The second documentation of the word purple in the gospel of Mark discloses the heart and mind of those who have mocked Christ since His first Battle over Sovereignty. In the first court room scene of the Battle of Sovereignty placed the robe of royalty, the purple, on Christ with a crown of thorns. This action also symbolized religion (false Christianity) using and abusing the Christ in His position of royalty as a failure, wearing a crown of the curse of the world. It is one thing to take in the suffering and humiliation of Christ on the cross of Calvary, and it is another to keep Christ on the cross and not proclaim Him as the risen Victor sitting at the right hand of God. Politics would call this Redirecting the Focus. We have a RISEN SAVIOR, and He is the FOCUS of our hope and our eternal future . . . FOCUS ON THAT . . . because we are nearer today to finally see the fulfillment of our hope and to enter into another time frame: a frame without time.

The second documentation of the word purple was the Battle of Denial and Rejection. This is how mankind has mocked God, they take the purple from him by their words that Christ is NOT GOD, that He was merely a man, a descendant of Adam; this is taking the purple from him. This battle of taking the purple from him began at the beginning of the Church Age. Church councils argued over these issues: was Christ God AND man, or was Christ God OR man, or was Christ THE GodMan. We, Christians and non-Christians, are told to never delve into this mystery of the Godhead. We are told that Christ had both a human nature and a divine nature separate yet united. However, scripture clearly teaches that Christ DID NOT HAVE A HUMAN NATURE. There was nothing HUMAN about Christ. There was a Body prepared for Him, a Body that could experience pain and suffering, a Body that could empathize with His creatures, a Body that could feel hunger, that could know tiredness, and a Body that could suffer death. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. (Hebrews 10:5)

First, He was SENT from heaven to earth. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6:38) And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6:39) His character was of the celestial realm NOT of the natural realm.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) The same was in the beginning with God. (John 1:2) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

Secondly, Christ was MADE in the LIKENESS of human flesh. Here again The Law of First Mention comes into play. Follow the words in the likeness and see where it leads us. The first mention of in the likeness is in Genesis 5:1, This [is] the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him. This verse says that man (Adam) was made in the likeness of God. It does NOT say that because Adam was created in the likeness of God Adam was then ‘like God.’ No Adam was not as God, nor like God, nor God; Adam was made in the likeness of God. Adam, mankind, was/is created a separate entity of a material tangible character and nature. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27)

God SENT His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh . . . For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (Romans 8:3) Being made in the likeness of God did not make Adam God, so too Christ being in the likeness of sinful flesh did not make Christ flesh (man). But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:7) Christ was always separate FROM mankind in sin because there was no sin IN Him. The refusal to accept Christ as GOD, taking the purple from him is not understanding that GOD IS A SUPERNATURAL ENTITY, that HE IS SPIRIT, He is beyond our level of comprehension, and that is why HE WROTE A BOOK.

Thirdly, the conception of the Lord Jesus Christ was SUPERNATURAL. God had already planted into man’s history births that were supernatural, thus, preparing the way for mankind to begin to understand that the Great I AM, Jehovah God, had the power to create LIFE outside of man’s body as well as LIFE within man’s body, spiritually and physically. (Remember, Sarah [Genesis 17:17], and Elisabeth [Luke 1:18] these births were supernatural births.)

That is why Christ, before His birth was called that holy thing. A ‘thing,’ a ‘holy thing,’ and ‘THAT HOLY THING.’ How much clearer can the Holy Spirit of God call ‘a spiritual seed’ from the Creator of life,’ a spiritual Seed, placed SUPERNATURALLY into the womb of a maiden of the earth! The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. (Job 33:4) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

Christ was NOT of her nature. Christ was NOT of her species. Christ was NOT of her flesh nor of her blood. This WAS A SUPERNATURAL ACT by a SUPERNATURAL GOD through a natural creature created by God, a woman of the earth. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35) Before Mary gave birth, within her was THAT HOLY THING, after giving birth, the child was called that HOLY CHILD JESUS. (Acts 4:27, 30) THAT THING, was HOLY when it was conceived by the Holy Spirit of God because it was HOLY BEFORE conception.

The Holy Spirit of God is the original wordsmith. He selects the perfect word for the perfect time in the perfect place to describe His perfect meaning.

Fourthly, a Righteous and Holy God GAVE HIMSELF for man, in the likeness of man, for the sin of man, to dwell among man, not to be man, but to reveal The GOD HEAD to man by the GODHEAD BODILY, The GODHEAD in BODILY form. (As the Father and the Spirit are One in GODHEAD). For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham. (Hebrews 2:16) There is a distinctive difference between the nature of angels, and the nature of the children of wrath, and the spirit of man within man, and the seed of Abraham. Christ did not take on the nature of angels, nor did He take on the NATURE of Abraham, but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham. ONLY ONE time in the Bible is it documented he took on [him]. It does not read, ‘that He became,’ but he took on [him]. He TOOK, He SELECTED, He CHOSE, He SINGLED OUT, He TOOK ON HIM. The Holy Spirit of God is the original wordsmith. He selects the perfect word for the perfect time in the perfect place to describe His perfect meaning. And in Hebrews 2:16 it was he took on [him] the seed of Abraham; the Spirit of God did not select the word ‘became’ as in Acts 10:10 he became very hungry, or 2nd Corinthians 8:9, he became poor, or as in Hebrews 5:9, he became the author of eternal salvation.

He took on [him] the seed of Abraham, NOT the nature of Abraham. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)

Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (Galatians 3:19)

And if ye [be] Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1ts John 3:9)

Fifthly, this Man, who came from heaven, was A NEW MAN SENT from heaven so that man (Adam) who had originally been made in the image of God before sin, could become a new man, a new race of man, a spiritual new race of man to be capable of identifying with God. As Christ was the NEW MAN, He brought the spiritual new man born by God to God. First, there had to be a spiritual new birth, not a tangible rebirth, nor a birth of reformation, but a total and immediate newborn child of God; then would come a new spiritual body to be conformed to the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The New Man

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; (Ephesians 2:15)

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)

And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: (Colossians 3:10)

The Old Man

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:6)

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (Ephesians 4:22)

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; (Colossians 3:9)

New Life – New Spirit

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter. (Romans 7:6)

The Redeemed Body – The Spiritual Body – The Glorious Body

And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10)

And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body. (Romans 8:23)

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (1st Corinthians 15:44)

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (Philippians 3:21)

The Image of the Heavenly

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2)

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1st Corinthians 15:49)

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans 8:29)

This is part of the Battle of Denial. The Church has denied their God, the Lord Jesus Christ. How has the Church denied their God? They have made the Lord Jesus Christ who is GOD into a ‘buddy system salvation.’ He is called, a friend, a brother, that is part of His work as the High Priest of God, BUT HE HAS NEVER CEASED to be GOD. The Church has denied His Majesticness, His Sovereignty, and His right to be HONORED and REVERENCED. Israel denied Jehovah, and then they denied and rejected their Messiah. The Church denied God when they denied and rejected His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and then they further denied Him when they usurped the works of the Holy Spirit of God. This Battle of Denial is a continual battle played out in every earthly religious and nonreligious forum. There are those who refuse Christ completely as God. Then there are those who place Christ as God in a limited time frame, saying that He only became God at a certain time in His manhood. Christ was THAT HOLY THING BEFORE the womb, then into the tomb, and then into the heavens. He never stopped being THAT HOLY THING because He WAS/IS GOD. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.(1st Timothy 3:16) Therefore, since GOD was manifest in the flesh as His Son Jesus Christ, He was also received up into glory as the MAN in heaven for us. (Before the cross we did not have a glorified Man in heaven for us. He was always the Son of the Father in heaven, but now the manifested Man (Jesus Christ) is glorified in heaven for us, and shares with us His love, His eternal life, and His eternal glory.) And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13) [What] and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? (John 6:62)

In the 20th verse of Mark Chapter 15, there is a phrase that many glibly glide over, it is and put his own clothes on him. Do you see how not only they, but we also throughout the ages have taken off the purple from him and we have put his own clothes on him desperately attempting to remove Him from the Godhead to make Him as just one of us. Just another man, maybe ‘a good man’ but nevertheless, man. Sinful man cannot bear to accept that an invisible God would purposively prepare a special Body to move and dwell among His creatures in order to save them from their sin and destruction, even to the point where He would give His life for those who hated His life. The adversary of God, Satan, has attacked Christ from every possible angle, and taking the purple from him and making Christ a mere man with the foibles of mankind brings Him down to any level that man desires to prove himself as the better of God.
